LinkedIn’s Mobile Apps to Allow Profile Edits on the Go

Today, LinkedIn has made “one of the most requested features on our mobile apps” a reality: the ability for users to update their professional profiles from their smartphones.

Now, when you sign that contract with your future employer, you can change your title right in the lobby — you don’t even have to wait until you get back to your desk at your old job to start rubbing it in people’s faces. Just kidding.

The update will work on both the iPhone and Android apps, and in all the languages that LinkedIn offers. You will be able to change or add your title, headline, skills, and new positions.

One of the most convenient features of the new tool is the camera function. Using the camera on your phone, you can now take a picture of yourself, recenter and scale it, and use it as your headshot on your profile. There’s also a “retake” button, because LinkedIn knows you’re not going to like the first one you take.

It’ll be worth the effort. Said LinkedIn’s David Breger,”Profiles with photos are seven times more likely to be viewed on LinkedIn.”
