Marketers on LinkedIn will now have the option of embedding slide show presentations into their usual ad slots. LinkedIn has added SlideShare presentations to its portfolio of content marketing ads, the company announced today.
LinkedIn’s Content Ads are designed to be more interactive than a traditional display ad and can be targeted to specific audiences within the network. The company’s other offerings include videos, blog posts, company news, and other updates.
Presentation-sharing community SlideShare was acquired by LinkedIn in 2012.
“We’re excited about this integration because we know that presentations are a great way to educate, engage and even entertain audiences,” said Aviad, Pinkovezky, monetization product manager at LinkedIn in a blog post. “We’re also testing more features that give brands the ability to collect leads directly from SlideShare content, and extend their reach through social gestures including ‘Likes’ and ‘Shares.'”
