Group deals are everywhere these days and more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon to get cheap family deals at restaurants, discounted vacations and more. But the problem with group deals are that sometimes you find yourself buying things that you never would have considered just because of the good price and sometimes you just can’t find a deal for the restaurant, hotel or shop that you really want to go to. That’s where MyVici comes in. MyVici launched this morning with the goal of turning group deals on their heads. Instead of logging on to see what deals are being offered, MyVici users log on to make requests for deals they’d like to see. Then, MyVici turns these deal wish lists into realities. When your group grows large enough (the number is currently set at 100), Team Vici reaches out to the company/shop/restaurant/etc. that you requested and gets that deal for you. And the best part is, if you were the original person to request the deal then if it becomes a reality you get to take part for free. CEO and founder of myVici, Mike Tokar, says, "Consumers’ online activities are evolving from passive shopping – i.e., waiting for offers to come their way – to active social consumption. Together with their friends, consumers will be using social consumption tools like myVici to manage what brands are connecting with them and with what offers, when and how." Tokar adds that "myVici is also poised to improve the deals market for merchants – they don’t have to put forth offers or spend money on advertising with a blind eye to whether or not consumers really want what they’re offering." myVici can approach these merchants and let them know exactly what their potential customers want and basically guarantee them action on their deal. Users can request a deal at myVici.com or hop aboard a deal requested by another user by clicking ‘Count Me In’. When the deal becomes available, users that have clicked ‘Count Me In’ get first dibs before the deal is made available to other myVici users. Tokar says, "myVici was created by group buying sites were falling short on relevancy to consumers and value to merchants. myVici solves this by letting consumers speak their minds and enabling businesses to respond with offers.
