Google picks up mobile productivity app developer Quickoffice

Google has acquired Quickoffice, the developer of the popular series of Quickoffice Pro productivity apps for iOS and Android.

Founded in 1997, Quickoffice is a much older player than others in the mobile app space. Over the past three years the company has established itself as the leading developer of mobile productivity and office software, racking up more than 300 million installs on iOS, Android and Symbian devices.
