Foursquare Introduces New College Badge Program

You might be wondering why foursquare choose these colleges first. That is easy to answer because just about every school that is getting a badge has an active foursquare presence. For instance, the University of Oregon and Texas A&M both have sponsored an on campus foursquare-based scavenger hunts. Then, USC quite often asks the student body to check in to campus events, offering incentives to encourage them even more.

Foursquare has decided to bring the Universities 2.0 program back this fall semester with an expanded college badge program.

In foursquare’s blog post concerning the program, the social network displayed a new set of badges and announced 15 colleges that are set to be initial partners in the program. The lucky colleges are Arizona State University, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, University of Oregon, Texas Tech, Duke University, West Virginia University, University of Oklahoma, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Kansas, University of South Florida, Virginia Tech, UC Berkeley and The Ohio State University.
