Facebook is apparently testing a new type of feed, based on topics.

Some users on Wednesday reported seeing a small menu on the left-hand toolbar titled “Topics,” with Animals & Pets, Food, Health & Fitness and Sports as options.

These feeds surface recent and relevant posts from friends and pages you’ve liked. It appears to only be on desktop, not mobile versions of Facebook.

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the test in an email to SocialTimes:

People have told us they’d like options to see more stories on Facebook around specific topics they’re interested in. So we are testing a few feeds for people to view more and different stories from people and Pages based on topic areas. You can access these feeds from your Bookmarks, located underneath Favorites.

When the user clicks on the topic, they can choose preferences. Facebook asks questions such as “What do you love about food?” for the food topic page. It gives a list of liked sports teams when the sports feed is selected.

Users can also leave feedback if a post is miscategorized.
