Facebook appears to be testing a feature for page administrators to order comments based on the posters' popularity, in addition to chronological ordering.

Facebook appears to be testing a feature for page administrators to order comments based on the posters’ popularity, in addition to chronological ordering.

We received the screenshot below from Jesse Ferrell, community director at Accuweather; clicking on the number of comments in the upper left-hand corner of the screen conjures a pull-down menu for ordering comments based on chronology or popularity.

The most intriguing thing about it is the wording “social ranking” to refer to ordering posts based on the commenters’ popularity.

We’re not entirely sure “social ranking” means the number of friends the poster has or the number of likes and responses generated by the post.
