It’s always five o’ clock somewhere. Drink Deal Daily is bringing Happy Hour specials to bars and restaurants all over the country, the company announced today.
The daily deal site, which offers discounts on cocktails, will expand to 15 new markets in 2013. The service will be available in Phoenix, Seattle, and San Diego beginning next month.
The market may be saturated with deal sites like Groupon and LivingSocial, but this site is doing two things differently from the others: 1. appealing to heavy drinkers who will most certainly spend more than their coupon is worth and 2. using a different business model.
Rather than charging business owners a percentage of the sales, Drink Deal Daily will charge merchants a flat fee to run the ads. The company is moving forward with the “Coupons for Cocktails” model after testing it on bar and restaurant owners the Phoenix area last month and plans to reach 50 cities by 2014.
“With a successful launch in March, we will have lined up a host of local and national vendors ready to offer high-quality, relevant daily drink deals to socially active consumers in Phoenix, Seattle and San Diego and our upcoming cities,” said Adam Dopps, managing member and founder of Drink Deal Daily in a statement. “We provide a unique value proposition to both value-minded consumers who benefit from compelling offers, and vendors who benefit from a highly-targeted audience to whom they can market their products and services for a flat fee that is many times less than the typical daily deal business model.”
