4M foursquare Users, But Only One Has the NASA Explorer Badge

Location-based mobile app foursquare may have just surpassed the 4 million-user mark, but the only one of those 4 million who can boast about earning the NASA Explorer badge is International Space Station Commander and NASA astronaut Doug Wheelock, as he recorded the first check-in from outer space, TechCrunch reported.

The outer-space check-in is part of a partnership between NASA and foursquare, under which the two parties created a special site, according to TechCrunch, which added that the other 3,999,999-plus users who can’t make it to the International Space Station will be able to earn the NASA Explorer badge by checking in to NASA-related sites here on Earth.
