Google has cut a number of services including Wave, Knol, and Friend Connect. (Does anyone even know what these things are?) But, Google+ has added trending topics and an advanced search filter.

With Klout receiving steady criticism and ridicule, CEO and co-founder Joe Fernandez has taken to the site’s blog to explain “The Vision Behind Klout” and directly answered questions from Social Media Today about privacy issues and the inclusion of kids on the site.

Vitrue says it is now managing more than one billion social media relationships across Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.

Facebook confirms that it has launched “Sponsored Stories.”
