The comms director for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-Va.), Laena Fallon is leaving her post to become the VP of comms for the Financial Services Forum (FSF) in August. Rich Jernstedt (pictured) has joined Porter Novelli as a senior counselor in the firm’s Chicago office. Jernstedt was previously EVP and senior partner at Fleishman-Hillard. He left the firm a year ago to start his own agency, The Jernstedt Company. Prior to F-H, he spent 26 years with GolinHarris. Porter Novelli has had a number of executive departures over recent months.

Deana Perlmutter has joined MWW Group as SVP of corporate affairs and deputy GM of the firm’s Washington D.C. office. Perlmutter founded her own public affairs firm, Integral Group, that focused on the energy/clean energy and environmental spaces. Prior to that, she was a senior policy advisor at the law firm Holland & Knight.
Miami-based Schwartz Media Strategies has a new social media director: Maria Argüello, a contributing editor to Ocean Drive magazine, founder of Yelp’s Miami community, and a speaker on issues surrounding digital marketing and social media. In her new role, she’ll work with clients including Walmart of Florida and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
