NJ Nets' Billionaire Owner Inspires Russian Site
The New Jersey Nets might have trouble hanging on to fans here in the U.S. given their record so far, but in Russia, interest is growing. So much that the team has launched a Russian-language website.
According to the press release announcing the launch, Russians are paying more attention tothe Nets following billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov’s majority-stake purchase of the team in May. Thousands showed up at a Moscow event featuring team players in October, and a Nets merchandise shop has opened in the country.
