Google Settles Class Action Lawsuit

Google has agreed to pay $8.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged that Google Buzz violated users’ privacy. From the start Google got push-back from privacy advocates who said the service made private info public and there have been calls from advocates and Congress members for an FTC investigation.

“Google has also agreed to educate users about the ‘privacy aspects of Buzz,'” paidContent reports. The story also reports on the likelihood that the number of Google Buzz users is low.
