Billionaires Support Education

On the heels of Mark Zuckerberg’s $100 million donation to Newark’s public schools, other donors with deep pockets have come out in support of educational causes.

Billionaire private equity firm co-founder Henry Kravis has also pledged $100 million to Columbia Business School (doesn’t quite have the same philanthropic ring to it, but it’s his alma mater). The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is launching a $20 million grant program to benefit entrepreneurs of all kinds who create technology to be used in the pursuit of college degrees.
