While sifting through many predictions about the absolute need to engage the consumer, facilitate discussions, and create strategic strategy on social networks, I came across one prediction that simultaneously called out the hackneyed nature of blogging predictions and lists, the insular meta-clubby behavior of new media experts, and the need to name names and pick fights to gain relevance:
Every PR blogger will publish their list of PRedictions (get it?) for 2009, resulting in the biggest blogswarm / techmeme / digg / clusterfark in the history of the blogosphere. Steve Rubel, Shel Isreal and Robert Scoble won’t know to whom to link. Lauren Feldman won’t know whom to mock. Jeremiah Owyang will tell us we’re all wrong. And Chris Brogan will put up a post on “10 ways to get your PRedictions for 2009 noticed.”
Not a single one of them will correctly predict that I will make enough money through Google Adsense to retire to the south of France.
