The latest tech company to integrate Facebook into an online television guide is TV Genius, as the London-based outfit announced the integration of Facebook Connect with its content discovery platform.
When users log into TV Genius’ electronic programming guide using Facebook Connect, shows liked by their friends are highlighted on the grid.
TV Genius said its platform can support Facebook on the web, Internet-enabled TV sets, smartphones, and tablets.
TV Genius Chief Executive Officer Tom Weiss said in a press release:
In a world where operators are battling to be the key entertainment hub, a Facebook-integrated TV guide will increase stickiness, encouraging users to interact with the TV guide and their friends. Powerful social recommendations will help viewers stumble across the content they want, while helping providers offer relevant, timely content.
