Donald Trump has as a love-hate relationship with the press. He needs them for his free media campaign but doesn’t enjoy talking to them. They want his orange creamsicle skin on their airwaves but don’t mind bashing in his skull for the random flung talking point.
However, this could be taking it up a notch in terms of media relations.
Corey Lewandowski, Donald’s campaign manager and right-hand guy, has been charged with simple battery and arrested in Florida for his physical handling of former Breitbart political reporter Michelle Fields.
The Palm Beach Post discusses the initial claim in Jupiter County about the 28-year-old reporter alleging Lewandowski left “bruises on her arm” after forcibly inserting herself into a throng of supporters to ask Trump a question about affirmative action. The Trump campaign immediately said she “made the whole thing up.”

This arrest is the culmination of many accusations that ended with Fields and editor at large Ben Shapiro leaving Breitbart altogether. In fact, in a move of solidarity, six staffers in total left Breitbart as a result. Then this happened:

So, while Lewandowski tries to paint the picture similar to a scorned ex, Trump’s campaign released a statement stating that Lewandowski “is absolutely innocent of this charge. He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated.”
