Ever wanted to just click print on your Facebook photos? Soon printing photos will be as easy as making a profile photo. Timdoo launched this morning and while still in Beta hope to be available for the Facebook general public soon. What is interesting about Timdoo is it will actually sort through your friends photos and find various pictures that you might have missed and if you check in again, even if a few times a day, Timdoo will remember which photos you have seen and show fresh ones. If you have more than a few hundred friends then you know what its like to see the Facebook photo newsfeed not budge.
There are also searches that can be preformed within Timdoo that make finding friends photos easier, think Flickr for Facebook. They are estimating you will be able to print and order various printed materials (photo books, posters, mouse pads, etc…) from within the app within the next month or so.
Currently if you want to print photos, say with Walgreens, you need to download the Facebook photo and re upload it to Walgreens.com. Timdoo makes this one step and will work with printers locally to where you are at. That drunken sorority night? Yes that is now a mug. Amazing hike on Mt. Shasta? Now a calendar. Oh boy this could get dangerous.
Many developers have argued that Facebook photos has not evolved the way that other areas of the platform have. If we look at growing apps around photo spotting and sharing (ex: Instagram or Path) printing is just around the corner. Perhaps Timdoo can be the Shutterfly of Facebook, meanwhile photos are the new status update.
Timdoo, now a San Francisco company, was originally based in Germany and won a TechCrunch Europe award last year for its creative product.
