Social entertainment provider Milyoni and digital distributor Cinedigm Digital Cinema will launch social action campaign “Million Eyes on the Issue” in conjunction with the Facebook premiere of documentary The Invisible War Monday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
The film debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and began a limited U.S. theatrical release in June. The Invisible War will be available for sale or rent via iTunes Sept. 25, and it will debut on video-on-demand and DVD Oct. 23.
Million Eyes on the Issue will tap into Milyoni’s Celebrity Cinema VOD platform and allow viewers of the documentary on Facebook to ask questions, share clips and quotes, and chat and interact with Dick and fellow viewers live during the film, and Dick will participate in a question-and-answer session following the screening. The Invisible War will then be available via VOD exclusively to Facebook users through Sept. 23.
I’m so excited by the potential that this innovative social media campaign has to actually make things happen at the grassroots, and, eventually, policy levels. The visceral reaction to this movie surpasses anything I’ve ever experienced before as a filmmaker, and I’m thrilled that Cinedigm and Milyoni have made our film the centerpiece of such an audacious and significant social media project.
