Monetizing international users is no easy feat. To help publishers solve this dilemma, Live Gamer and Skrill, operator of payment provider Moneybookers, announced a partnership to provide a one-stop solution. More after the jump.
Moneybookers has aggregated a tremendous amount of payment options throughout the world, over 100 payment methods in 200 countries, and by linking up with Live Gamer, App publishers can have access to these options plus Live Gamer’s commerce solution which includes features such as cataloguing and merchandising.
These payment methods are specific for various locales and territories and include bank transfer and debit instruments, mobile payments, pre-paid cards, Facebook credits and more. Publishers can offer their users one-time transactions, recurring payments, freemium support, chargeback protection and payment flow optimization.
The bottom line value add is to have a turn key solution for publishers. Publishers are looking to increase ARPUs (average revenue per user) and need features such as transactional analytics to optimize their digital sales strategy. Skrill charges 4.9% per transaction and 5.9% per transaction with chargeback protection.
As virtual economies mature and developers become more advanced, they will need more sophisticated ways of understanding user behaviors and how they tie into monetization. Working with payment options separately can be a hassle especially when dealing with local banks and different currencies.
“By partnering with Skrill we’re able to offer game publishers a true one-stop solution for monetization and revenue generation that achieves global strategic goals of acquiring new users, improving conversion rates and optimizing average revenue per user,” said Andrew Schneider, President of Live Gamer. “From comprehensive payment method support to virtual economy optimization, no other solution is as feature rich and easy to use as Live Gamer Payments by Skrill.”
In the past, Live Gamer has signed up many publishers including MMOs and social game developers. With security becoming an increasingly important risk, Live Gamer has to ensure that its clients are offered secure and compliant SaaS delivery services that protect against malicious hackers.
“It’s an exciting time for gamespublishers as the global market goes from strength to strength,” said Martin Ott, co-CEO of Skrill Holdings. “However, for publishers to realize their true potential and generate maximum revenues, it’s vital they can offer a truly reliable and secure payment option in multiple languages with local options. Our partnership with Live Gamer offers a highly cost effective, one stop shop payment solution allowing publishers to optimize their revenue streams and market to new and existing users.”
