We’ve been featuring various social networking sites here at Rotorblog that covers a wide array of niche/subject/interest. So, it didn’t surprise me at all to stumble upon a new social networking site for pets and pet owners, which aptly branded itself as Petsmooch.
Petsmooch brands itself as a social networking site “where pet smooch, owners schmooze.” And since owning a pet is pretty fun in itself, expect Petsmooch to offer a uniquely fun social networking site. From the words of Petsmooch co-founder Tirza Van Noord:
“PetSmooch is a-la Facebook without the fluff, and a-la Myspace without the mess and is dedicated only to pets and pet owners. It’s the new and most fun way of finding playmates and connecting with like-minded people. PetSmooch.com is the Stanford of pet sites!”
True enough, when I visited the Petsmooch site, I was greeted by a clean website with a photo of an all smiling family together with their pet canine. Event the Petsmooch logo was simply fun to look at. The overall look and feel of the Petsmooch portal would really make you feel light hearted and forget all about the hullabaloo of the entangled web.
So, what can you do at Petsmooch? Pretty much a lot of things that you normally do in your usual social networking sites. These include:
- building your own network of pets and pet owners who share your interests
- creating your pet’s blog, profile, posting your pet journals
- sharing photos, albums, videos, stories and communicating safely and privately
- creating your own group or join other members’ groups
Petsmooch is currently on by-invitation beta mode. You can request for an invite by convincing Tirza to give you one. Hopefully, I would get my invite as my pet Basset Hound is old enough to start blogging.
