GungHo Online Entertainment’s Puzzle & Dragons has passed over five million downloads in North America, taking the game to more than 38 million downloads worldwide. In addition to this newest milestone, GungHo has announced the game’s newest update, as well as its newest cross-promotion with a real-world brand.
The content update brings new monsters to the puzzle combat game. This includes new “god” characters. In addition, new “ultimate evolutions” have been released for some of the game’s classic monsters, like asHera-Ur, Dark Archdemon Lucifer, Viper Orochi and Susano, among others.
Elsewhere, the update has expanded a player’s maximum Monster Box size, allowing users to hold more monsters at one time, before needing to fuse or otherwise remove characters to free up room. The development team has tweaked the game’s skills and awoken skills, content for Descended Dungeons, orb colors and monster parameters.
GungHo has also announced the newest cross-promotion for the game, introducing Shinrabansho chocolate, a popular brand of Japanese sweets, to players. This promotion includes a new dungeon and new monsters (Apollo, Dragon King Saiga and Princess Kaguya), with the dungeon being available in four difficulty levels.
Finally, the game will soon play host to a new community event in celebration of reaching this download milestone. Official information on the event has yet to be released.
Puzzles & Dragons is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. In the game, players complete match-three battles with a team of monsters to destroy enemies in increasingly difficult dungeons.
