PR Firm Hiring Laid Off Reporters To Do Focus Groups

Many movie critics have been laid off in the last year. Two companies are now trying to give them work in market research.

Online research company OTX and public relations group mPRm have created Critical Focus Exchange, “a service in which critics and film reporters offer their expertise to producers and studios looking for feedback on niche and arthouse movies,” reports The Wrap.

The idea was started by film publicist Mark Pogachefsky. The gig only pays $100 per screening, but that could certainly be attractive easy money to out of work or freelancing journalists.
