Pivot Conference Explores the Always-On Consumer

Before their full immersion next week in Advertising Week and our Social Ad Summit, social media marketers should mark their October calendars for Pivot.

Taking place October 17 through 19 in New York City, Pivot is a marketing conference focusing on the “always on” 18 to 34 year old consumers. The packed agenda, formatted to emulate the social conversations in the consumer marketplace, includes presentations by social media thought leaders and brand marketers.

Covering everything from consumer behaviors and aesthetic preferences to mobile branding and social media measurement, Pivot aims to deliver the context and understanding to enable marketers to map a strategy of successful engagement with “Generation Y.”

The conference will be attended by 500+ brand marketers with $1 million in annual spending authority. Day One features an opening keynote conversation with David Kirkpatrick, author of The Facebook Effect, and Max Robbins of The Paley Center for Media. Day Two explores the attitudes, culture and preferences of the emerging consumer. Day Three takes a deep dive into strategies, language and tools to engage effectively. Of course, there will be networking events in the evenings.

Speakers slated to present at Pivot include Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post and Evan Cohen, General Manager of Foursquare. Others include prominent figures from household brand names, agencies, media, industry observers and technology companies such as Bing (Microsoft), Meebo, Virgin America, Brand Amplitude and Glam Media, to name a few.
