Paramount Buys ScreenLife
MocoNews reports that Paramount Pictures, the Viacom-owned movie studio, just made its first gaming related acquisition by purchasing ScreenLife, the Seattle-based game developer responsible for the DVD game “Scene It?”.
Scene was originally launched back in 2002 as a series of video-based trivia games. The company has since sold approximately 15 million copies on DVD, mobile, VOD and video game platforms, and also has a deal in place with Namco Games on mobile. Back in February, Paramount had formed Paramount Mobile Entertainment, a new division that will develop the studio’s mobile opportunities including a recently announced series of mobile comics.
