New Head of PR For Chicago Schools Not Making Friends In The Media

Monique Bond, who runs communications for Chicago Public Schools, is the center of a feature story in the Chicago Reader that says she is, “making it harder to report on the schools.”

“Principals now are leery of talking, more so than they were,” Lorraine Forte, editor of Catalyst Chicago, and independent magazine that covers the public school told the Reader.

Bond believes not much has changed. “When I got here it seemed there was already a system in place…I found a lot of principals automatically called the office of communications.
