Music Rhythm Game Loud on Planet X Launches on Mobile

The game features music from 14 artists, including Tegan and Sara, Chvrches, Lights, Metric and more.

Pop Sandbox launched Loud on Planet X on iOS and Android. The music rhythm game challenges players to protect musicians from aliens approaching the stage. The game features music from 14 artists, including Tegan and Sara, Chvrches, Lights, Metric and more.

Each level of Loud on Planet X features a song from one of the artists and sees players defend the artist as they perform on the left side of the screen. Aliens approach the stage in multiple lanes, and players must tap on these lanes to the beat of the music to attack them with shots from their speakers. Three difficulty levels are available.

While playing a song, a special power-up meter fills in the corner of the screen. Each time the meter is full, players can trigger a power-up by swiping on a lane. One power may slow an alien’s movement for a short time, for instance, while another power automatically attacks enemies in a single lane, and so on.

In addition, a special Loud meter fills at the top of the screen as players defeat aliens and earn points. Once the meter is full, players can tap on the Loud symbol to attack every alien on the screen.

If players allow an alien to reach the stage, one of their speakers will take damage. However, gamers can tap and hold on speakers to repair them while playing. Users will fail a song if they allow an alien to make it past a damaged speaker.

Players begin with a limited number of available songs, but as they complete levels, additional tracks will become available. The game includes two songs per artist.

Loud on Planet X is available to download for $3.99 on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
