mSpot, the mobile music and entertainment portal, announced that it has completed more than 500 ports to mobile phones across major carriers. The portal gives consumers access to music, custom ringtones, live radio and video on their cell phones.
The Silicon Valley-based company plans to commemorate the event with an unnamed “high-profile event and music performance” on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 to coincide with the CTIA Wireless Association’s trade show.
mSpot currently powers 13 live services across eight U.S. carriers, delivering content from the ABC, ClearChannel, Fox Sports, NPR, Paramount Pictures, Lions Gate Films and Disney, plus the four major music labels as wel as indie music labels. Recently the company topped the four million mark in active subscribers. mSpot has also been experimenting with full-length mobile video rentals for a while now.
