MobUI Picks Up Action Engine

MobUI.jpgFierceMobileContent is reporting that mobile application development firm MobUI has acquired the mobile portal technology provider Action Engine.

In a statement, MobUI said it plans to “exploit Action Engine’s mobile development platform to expand its focus beyond iPhone and mobile web applications to support downloadable, native mobile apps.”

The acquisition also gives MobUI access to Action Engine’s customer base, which includes AOL, The Wall Street Journal.com, MarketWatch.com, Barron’s.com, MSNBC.com and Sports Illustrated, according to the report.

Back in July, Action Engine teamed up with Millennial Media to offer ad insertion, rotation, and tracking within downloadable cell phone apps.
