This morning, I opened a letter from Brigade Marketing, a PR and digital marketing firm, that contained the items above. They’re promos for the new film Martha Marcy May Marlene; QR codes atop images of the film’s stars Elizabeth Olsen (the younger sister of the Olsen twins) and John Hawkes that will take you to the trailer for the new film.
It’s an interesting idea — send reporters a snail mail package and then ask them to use a QR code to see more of the promo. (Yes, that is a hard copy of The New York Times peeking out of the corner and yes, I read it on the weekends. I’m not ashamed.)
But, you can also go to the website for more info and the trailer. And this could completely be user error, but I’ve never managed to get the QR code reader on my phone to work.
