Hey Mark Zuckerberg! Nimrod Fridberg and Shikma Sharon are getting married this March in Tel Aviv and they want YOU to be at their wedding! The Israeli couple met on Facebook, and told their friends and family about the marriage proposal through Facebook so they think it’s only fitting to invite their matchmaker. After all, if Zuckerberg had not created Facebook the couple never would have met.
Shikma invited Zuckerberg in to the wedding in a video that was uploaded to YouTube yesterday. After telling her fiancée, oh so politely, “Quiet. Shut up!” in Hebrew, Shikma delivers an English message to Zuckerberg, promising him that if he comes to the wedding he will have fun. She’s also sure to let him know that, “If it’s a money issue, we will be happy to pay for your tickets!”
The couple’s video invitation has been viewed just over 11,000 times on YouTube so far and the Facebook group, ‘Mark Zuckerberg come to our wedding’ has been liked 359 times. The story has been getting a lot of coverage in Israeli media throughout the day as well, on NRG.co.il and Mako and Newsgeek (all in Hebrew), and appeared on Israel’s Channel 10 news last night.
Will Zuckerberg catch wind of the invitation and will he attend the wedding? Only time will tell. The big day is on Purim, March 17 at the Tel Aviv port. So Mark, will you do an “I’m attending” for the event?
