Apple has released the latest update for its iOS operating system, taking users to iOS 7.0.3. The update adds iCloud Keychain and Password Generator support to iOS devices, as well as a variety of iMessage bug fixes and UI updates.
iCloud Keychain keeps track of account names, passwords and credit card numbers, which are accessible across all approved devices. The information is encrypted and can’t be ‘read’ by Apple.
Meanwhile, Password Generator sees Safari suggesting unique, hard-to-guess passwords for online accounts to increase the security of those accounts.
iOS 7.0.3 also sees the return of Wikipedia and web search to the Spotlight search menu, and an enhancement to the Reduce Motion setting that minimizes animations when swapping between applications and the Home Screen.
The rest of the update contains system stability improvements for iWork apps (Numbers, Pages and Keynote), fixes to the sensitivity to VoiceOver input and bug fixes within iMessage. Specifically, iOS 7.0.3 fixes bugs that could prevent iMessage from activating or prevent messages from sending for some users.
The update comes alongside the unveiling of two new iPad models, the iPad Air and the updated iPad Mini with Retina display. The full update notes for iOS 7.0.3 can be found on Apple’s support website.
