About.me is a simple homepage for keeping all of your social profiles in one place. No photo albums, no status updates or long-winded bios, just a single page that points to places where people can find you online. Today About.me has partnered with Kred to show visitors your influence score as well.
Social influence is a way to use your social media sites to establish expertise in a particular subject area, like music or food. Kred’s two-part scoring system rewards you for giving feedback to other people as well as showing how other people respond to you. The system scans through your public posts on Twitter and Facebook for keywords to figure out what you write about the most and how often these posts spark a dialogue. Whether you’re a food critic or a fitness expert, you can establish Kredibility every time you post about your favorite subject, or when other people stop by your Kred profile to give you influence points.
Recently, Kred redesigned its site so that when you log into your profile, you can see which of your posts have had the most impact, displayed in an image-friendly layout called Kred Story. To add your Story to your About.me page, just log in and select “edit page,” then “apps.”
Once you select “add an app,” you’ll have to click through to the last page to select “Kred” from the list.
Once you log in, the icon will appear on your profile page. People who click on it will be taken to a brief overview of your influence score and top communities, like this:
