Geraldo Calls Netanyahu 'Chickensh!t,' Gets Blasted by Kerry in Return

As a self-proclaimed "Jew-Rican," Geraldo Rivera would be the last person you would expect to throw bombs in the direction of God's chosen people. But one also gets the sense that the dude kinda' misses the spotlight. This ballyhoo all started when The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg wrote a lengthy and slightly vitriolic piece about foreign relations with Israel. In that article, he quoted a deep-throated White House knob who called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "chickensh*t" (to quote the shirtless selfie wonder Jerry Rivers). Goldberg further fanned the flames of discontent between the United States and Israel by writing that Obama administration officials have described Netanyahu as “recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous, and ‘Aspergery.’” Sure, the guy has been known to be whatever those words mean, but "chickensh*t"? If you troll any political website, regardless of affliation, you will note that Netanyahu is known to say what he thinks no matter who is in the room. Sure, he could use a few lessons from the Joe Biden charm school, but he's like any politician -- he does what it takes to keep his gig and the accompanying benefits. Goldberg (and apparently Rivera) thinks there's more to it: Another manifestation of his chicken-shittedness, in the view of Obama administration officials, is his near-pathological desire for career-preservation… [and] clear signals by Netanyahu to his political base, in advance of possible elections next year, that he is still with them, despite his rhetorical commitment to a two-state solution. The public criticism of Obama policies is simultaneously heartfelt, and also designed to mobilize the base. To wit, Secretary of State John Kerry comes to the rescue. “We condemn anybody who uses language such as was used in this article… It is disgraceful, unacceptable, damaging.” Geraldo knows that many people share this mysterious source's views of Netanyahu, but perhaps this story is simply another reflection of problems with the White House's media relations strategy. If the natives don't have a voice, they'll simply put a handkerchief over the phone and become a "source." We know what Obama thinks. Here's what Kerry thinks too. What do you think?
