FISHAO developer GamoVation has announced the development of its upcoming cross-platform MMO, MafiaBattle. The game is being created in partnership with game development studio Simit, and will see players working to become the most powerful and respected mobster in the in-game world. Players will do so by managing their own mafia empire, complete with a mansion, meth lab, hospital and more.
These structures can be upgraded, with these upgrades giving players certain in-game benefits that will help them grow in their quest for power. For example, upgrading the money press would see it producing more cash than before. In addition to cash, players will also produce their own drugs and ammunition for use elsewhere in the game.
In addition to the simulation gameplay, MafiaBattle will allow players to gamble their virtual riches in one of five casino games (blackjack, slots, and roulette, as examples), or keep themselves busy by sending their units into mafia battles. Users will gain Mafia Power by buying new troops. These troops can then be upgraded and equipped with weapons to have a better chance of success during combat.“Participate in illegal activities to gain cash, get rid of the police, gamble your dirty money at the casino, and join your friends as you battle in wars against other families. And that’s just scratching the surface in terms of things to do in the game,” said Joppe Houpt, CEO of GamoVation, in a statement.
MafiaBattle is scheduled for release on Facebook, browser and mobile (as a web-app) in Q1 2015. Players interested in keeping up with the game’s progress can follow MafiaBattle on Facebook. Check back soon for more.
