Mobile shopping app Yerdle has been completely redesigned on iOS, with a nationwide launch allowing all users to swap gently used items with others for free. In addition to nationwide availability, the app has been updated with a re-designed user interface, a better way to discover new items, a simplified shopping cart and more for iOS 7.
Yerdle offers an auction experience to users, as new users receive 250 credits, and can spend those on bids for anything from clothing to electronics. Once an auction ends, the purchaser pays $2-4 in flat rate shipping, and will receive their item.
The more items a user gives away, the more credits they’ll earn to put back into the system, encouraging users to continually update their accounts, and keep the app’s economy rolling. A “Get it Now” feature is also available.
“We want people to rethink the way they shop,” said Adam Werbach, co-founder of Yerdle. “We’ve spent the last few months testing our credits and auction-style sharing system with members in San Francisco. Adding low-cost, simple nationwide shipping is the final step to making using yerdle easier than buying new.”
In addition to shipping, users can choose to allow others to pick their items up locally. When shipping, Yerdle gives users a pre-paid shipping label for use with the USPS.
