Do you have 130 friends on Facebook; send eight friend requests per month; spend more than 55 minutes per day on Facebook; click the Like button on nine pieces of content each month; write 25 comments on Facebook content each month; become a fan of two pages each month; get invited to three events per month; and belong to 12 groups? If the answer is yes, then you are an average Facebook user, according to the social-networking site’s official Facebook Statistics page.
Inside Facebook culled some data from the Statistics page and compared some of the numbers with comparable figures from September and July.
Among the highlights:
The total number of Facebook users rose 20% from July 15-Sept. 15 and 16.7% from Sept. 15-Dec. 1, topping the 350 million mark.
Facebook said 35 million people update their status every day, representing an increase of about 16.7% during the past five months, adding that daily status updates now total 55 million, a 37.5% jump from 40 million in September.
As far as photos, 2.5 billion are currently being uploaded each month, up from 2 billion in September and 1 billion in July.
Inside Facebook attributed this next statistic to Facebook Connect: 3.5 billion pieces of content (Web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, etc.) are currently being shared per week, up from 2 billion per week in September and 1 billion in July.
