Further integration with Facebook played a major part in the rollout of Skype for Windows 5.5 Beta, as the Internet voice service and the social network are now tied together far more tightly with the introduction of new features.

The newest version of Skype lets users access Facebook without having to log in separately.

This means you can with Facebook friends by instant messaging, and like and comment on status updates — all within Skype.

Other new features in the Skype release include a new call control toolbar with redesigned icons, easier saving of phone numbers in the section labeled “call phones,” and an improved graphics interface when calls are placed on hold.
