Backflip Studios appears to be back in command of the top grossing iOS charts, claiming the No. 1 spot on both the iPhone and iPad charts for the third week in with its game DragonVale. As we pointed out last week, the game has been one of the steadiest performers on iOS in 2012.
This week’s most notable chart placement is DeNA’s Mobage game Rage of Bahamut. The game has already topped the Android charts for more than six weeks, and now the card-battle game seems like it will reach the top of the iOS charts too, climbing to No. 7 on the top grossing iPhone apps chart this week. The game was released on May 16.
On the iPad charts Quickoffice’s productivity app Quickoffice Pro HD takes the No. 3 spot. Newly acquired by Google, the app hasn’t left the top 25 of the top grossing iPad charts since February, according to AppData.
