Mobile game developer Dots has announced the launch of TwoDots on Facebook. The game was released on iOS devices in the Summer of 2014, and has been played by over 20 million people worldwide. In TwoDots, players complete puzzle levels by drawing lines to connect two or more colored dots in a row. With this Facebook release, players who have connected their mobile experience to their Facebook account can carry their progress across devices.
Each level of TwoDots has a different goal and move limit. One level, for instance, may ask players to clear 15 each of red, green, blue and yellow dots within 30 moves, while another challenges players to bring anchor symbols to the bottom of the screen by removing the dots underneath them (and so on). While playing, lines can be created between dots either vertically or horizontally, but not diagonally. If users create a perfect square of dots, these moves serve as explosions, clearing all dots of that same color from the screen instantly.
Players lose lives as they fail to complete a level’s goals without running out of moves. These lives recharge automatically over time. The game is monetized via in-app purchases, as players can purchase additional moves and bombs before actually giving up on a level. These bombs clear a small group of dots from the screen for collection.
