Club Penguin Launches on Android with Holiday Content

Disney Interactive has announced the official launch of Club Penguin on Android devices, giving a new set of players access to the MMO virtual world while away from their home PC. In addition, the game has been updated with a Merry Walrus Celebration, which gives players the chance to participate in Merry Walrus’ unusual traditions while celebrating the season of giving.

From now until December 29, players will find the world of Club Penguin decorated for winter, with many themed quests available for completion. These include tasks like decorating the tree, having a holiday food fight, or even finding six blue crystal puffle ornaments hidden around the world. Players will receive special rewards for completing these quests, and at the end of the final quest, Merry Walrus will present players with their own blue crystal puffle, which is theirs to keep after the party ends.

Mobile has become a significant platform for Club Penguin, with 25 percent of Club Penguin players accessing the game from smartphones or tablets. The game was released on iOS devices last year. In the children’s MMO, players create a penguin avatar and can explore the in-game world, completing quests, meeting new friends, caring for pets and more along the way. While the game is available to play for free, premium subscription options unlock more features for players.

For those looking for even more holiday fun, a new holiday television program, We Wish You a Merry Walrus, is now available to download on iTunes for $2.99 HD and $1.99 SD. The show will also air on the Disney Channel on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Club Penguin is available to download for free on Google Play and the iTunes App Store, and is also available online.
