Move over, PayPal. Direct payment processing has come to social media.
Social commerce platform Chirpify announced today that its members can now accept domestic and international credit and debit cards, as well as send and accept automated clearing house (ACH) payments, directly in-stream with a single comment on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

With Chirpify’s new direct payment processing, consumers get more options and less friction, while sellers get lower costs because of the elimination of third party fees.
Here’s how it works: the first time you make a purchase with Chirpify, you just sign up at chirpify.com and enter your credit card (Chirpify accepts AmEx, Discover, MasterCard and Visa), debit card or bank routing information, or connect your account to PayPal.
Once you’re set up, all you have to do to make a purchase is reply to a tweet, or comment on a Facebook or Instagram post with the words, “buy,” “donate” or “gimme.”
Crazy simple, right?
The technology is similar to Soldsie, an app that lets you buy items from Facebook by commenting “Sold.” Except with Chirpify, that action on social media is the last step in the process – with Soldsie, you’re then taken to a payment screen via your email inbox.
