In one of its best or worst ads ever, depending on your point of view, PETA piles on the guilt thicker than Fido's latest miscue on the carpet—claiming that for each dog people buy, another dies in a shelter. Whether that's true or not, seeing people dragging around dog-size body bags on leashes is highly unnerving. Even oddball touches, like stopping at a fire hydrant, just add to the unease. The final shot of a canine-sack sadly bobbing its head out of a car window is as potent and manipulative as it gets. That's one doggie bag I wouldn't take home.
