The local bomb squad in Santa Clarita, Calif., was called out to a Los Angeles Times news rack this week and blew the thing up after being tipped that it contained a bomb. Unfortunately for the Mission: Impossible III marketing team, the bomb turned out to be a malfunctioning music device that was supposed to play the M:i:3 theme song when the door was opened. There are still 4,500 news racks with this clever little gadget attached, so don’t be surprised, or call the bomb squad, when your L.A.
