The good news: Chicago city officials are standing up to Cocaine. The bad news: Cocaine is an energy drink, soon to join BB guns and phosphates on the city’s verboten list. City alderman Edward M. Burke finds it “both shocking and shameful that the producer of any energy drink would call itself ‘Cocaine,’ simulate the sensation of ingesting this harmful drug and then focus on marketing it to young people.” He’s flabbergasted that energy drinks fill people with—here is the flabbergasting part—energy. He’s too late with this tirade, anyway. Has he seen some of the ads local to Chicago? Whoever filmed them wasn’t using this, I’ll tell you that much.
