Time magazine is covering the NBA’s playoffs campaign … literally, right down to the tagline, “There can only be one.” The newsweekly’s latest cover features a split-screen shot of Democratic presidential combatants Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, fusing them into a delegate-devouring, single-headed political creature that, to my cynical eye at least, looks a lot like John McCain. Time’s previous cover, advertising a story about the environment, courted controversy by substituting a tree for the flag in the famous 1945 photo of U.S.
