Here’s a weird, but oddly effective, campaign for the movie, The Matador, which ran in remnant space yesterday in The New York Times. Three small, square, black-and-white ads, with the headlines “Contract negotiations held up?”, “Someone else get that last Xbox 360?” and “Why wait for the inheritance?” were peppered throughout the A section. Though the answer to all three questions is a non-sequitur: “Introducing Julian Noble. JulianNoble.com,” it still works in driving people to the site, which is a promo for the Miramax Films comedy which is opening in New York and Los Angeles on Dec.
