Fun with Spam

Spam_2 A friend recently suggested I check out what text ad shows up when I click on the spam link in my Gmail account. Did I find an ad for e-mail filters? No. I found a link to a recipe for Spam Vegetable Strudel with the instructions, "Bake 20 minutes or until golden, serve with soy sauce." I clicked on the spam link again—this time it was a recipe for a Spam Hash Brown Bake; a third time, it was for Spam Skillet Casserole, "broil until golden." Yum! Or maybe not … The advertiser with a sense of humor isn't Hormel, the maker of Spam (although the official Spam Web site is a great piece of kitsch), but recipesource.com.
