Some of you might consider “Read Y’All” to be a poor tagline for a literacy campaign. But Oklahoma doesn’t really care about y’all’s bad attitude. More than 20 percent of the state’s adult population can’t read, and Read Y’All wants to do something about that. Now it has a fresh new face for its advertising: Carrie Underwood, the winner of American Idol season four. Underwood was born in Muskogee, Okla., in 1983. She’s done some public-service work before, for The Humane Society.
