Bing Ad Celebrates Kevin Pearce's Return to Snowboarding But should it be re-edited following another skier's death?

It's been a long two years for Kevin Pearce, the American snowboarder who was critically injured on New Year's Eve in 2009, suffering a traumatic brain injury when he hit his head on the halfpipe in Park City, Utah, while on a training run. Pearce almost died, but he has since made a remarkable recovery, which culminated in his recent return to the slopes. The whole story is told—narrated by Pearce himself—in the new Bing ad below, from the Portland, Ore., office of Razorfish. It's an emotional spot, truly inspiring and buoyed by the sheer charisma of Pearce himself, who grins from ear to ear as he gets back to the mountains after two years of rehabilitation. The new tagline is, "Bing is for doing." Pearce, once an Olympic hopeful, won't compete again, but it's a story of triumph nonetheless. The only downside for Bing is the timing of the spot's release—just days after Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke died following a fall on the very same superpipe where Pearce was injured. The Bing spot needn't be pulled, but could benefit from another edit—to remove the word "Living" from the screen, and possibly amend Pearce's final voiceover words: "I made it. I'm here.
